Considering Starting your OWN Business?

This workshop is facilitated by Duquesne University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to introduced a grant-funded program that assists workers in transition to start a business. The Venture Into Entrepreneurship (VIE) program consists of a 4-day training program plus counseling / mentoring sessions to assist in transitioning from unemployment into entrepreneurship. You will hear how this program seeks to connect those who are unemployed, but considering entrepreneurship as their next career move, with resources that will allow them to get started.

Venture into Entrepreneurship participants learn how-to:

  1. Register a business
  2. Understand social media
     
  3. Write a business plan
  4. Prepare financial projections
     
  5. Craft a marketing strategy
  6. Seek financing resources
     
  7. Create marketing materials
  8. Think like an entrepreneur
